Started in 1982, Talentime is an yearly endeavour undertaken by the students of School Of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology that showcases the cultural and managerial skills of students from all over south India. Itz TT again !
The countdown has begun,talentime 2007 is here,25 years of this event is certainly a time for unbiased retrospection...what is tt??..a group,a committee,an organisation or just a 3 day long cultural fest..??none of these..something much more deep,something ingrained in our collective consciousness, a part of our physque,a tradition,a culutre,a palpable vibration that engulfs every soul in sms,a legacy which we have inherited..of which we happen to be the torch bearers and which will pass on succeding generations..this is the only occasion when sms advertises itself.its a simulated mgmt environment when principles and theorems hitherto confined to(seldom opened!)texts,come alive..everyone gets a chance to experience mgmt in real time--the stress,the resource crunch,the conflicts,the excruciating deadlines,last minute glitches...challenging indeed!!..but the very theme of this talentime is an open invitation to those hindering forces.."seize the armour,capture the crowning glory".with spirits that have braved torturous tempests and armed with the most lethal of ammunition-'unity,courage,skill and reselience'..we move out in search of difficulties before they find us.the various teams and depts work in complete synchronisation to ensure that 'tt 'materialises..mktg to garner much needed money for such a huge enterprise,finance to chanellise money and making it available to other depts lest they are starved,communication to lure participants,food & accomodation working to follow in letter and spirit the old agdage that "guest is god" and events commitee which remains on tenterhooks throughout the 3 day finale...its simple.."all for one ,one for all"..so friends,forgetting differences & affiliations,lets get our acts together...
